TECHNICAL PRODUCTION AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT FOR MAGICCON AMSTERDAM 2026
MagicCon: Amsterdam 2026 brought Magic:
The Gathering back to RAI Amsterdam from 17 to 19 July.
It is the biggest Magic gathering in Europe, and this edition sold out.
Thousands of players, artists, cosplayers and creators filled four halls for a weekend of play, panels, art and live programming.
For the second time, The Bridge AV Group handled the technical production and
project management, commissioned by and in close collaboration with
Production Resource Group (PRG).
Our scope ran from the technical design and planning to leading the crew
and delivering the whole setup on-site.
Two stages, one production
The heart of the event was the Pro Tour Stage, where Pro Tour Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes was played and broadcast live to the world through several channels.
Next to it we built the Mana Stage with its own international stream production,
home to the panels, previews and the live shows the community comes for.
Around those two stages we delivered the audiovisual technology for four halls and fully equipped four break-out rooms. In practice that meant one integrated design for lighting, audio, video and broadcast across the entire RAI complex, with one team responsible for all of it.
Why we built everything in tour trusses first
Before a single truck arrived in Amsterdam, all systems were pre-built in tour trusses and fully tested in the warehouse. Fixtures rigged, cabled and addressed.

Every network tested before it left the building.
That preparation paid off on the floor. Load-in in the RAI went considerably faster, and the systems that came in were systems we had already seen working.
With several simultaneous global streams running, that predictability is what you build a production on. Every second of broadcast has to be right the first time.
Livestream at world level
Multiple streams ran at the same time from the Pro Tour Stage and the Mana Stage, and fans around the world followed along live. Camera positions, broadcast audio, comms and show calling were aligned with the requirements of the international broadcast partners and run from one central production control room.
That single point of control is what kept the two stages in step.

and short lines to the crew on the floor.

A production on this scale runs on clear communication. Together with PRG and every partner involved, we worked from one integrated schedule, with one point of contact on-site and tight alignment between technology, organisation and broadcast.

Fourteen trailers of equipment in and out.

Sixty crew members on the floor every day, working from one plan.
A sold-out MagicCon, two stages and global livestreams that ran as planned from the first match to the last panel.
